Starting an email or conversation with the words "with all due respect" is usually appreciated as a positive start to a somewhat contentious situation. However, there are some people who would rather "read in" to the term to the point of demonizing and twisting the meaning as to its original intent, thus adding fuel to the fire so to speak.
