Template:Undocumented/doc

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Usage[edit]

  • This template is for identifying templates that have no documentation (or so little documentation there might as well be none).
  • It can also be used to flag undocumented Wikipedia-internal categories; this should only be done for categories that are clearly for Wikipedia maintenance purposes, not article, and the purpose of which is unclear. For example, the dated subcategories of an overarching cleanup category that is documented do not need to be individually documented.
  • This template should be placed below the template to which it is being applied, inside <noinclude>...</noinclude> tags (with no whitespace between the end of the tagged template and this <noinclude>, otherwise unintentional space will be introduced into transcluded copies of the tagged template).
  • This template will add tagged templates to Category:Templates needing documentation pages, or a tagged category to Category:Undocumented Wikipedia maintenance categories (which may need to be periodically recreated, as it will might get speedily deleted if empty). For "User:"- and "Wikipedia:"-namespace templates, it does no categorization.
  • It detects the namespace and adjusts the wording accordingly.
  • Please do not subst this template.
  • The following code is the recommended use; it will produce the uncategorized template with an appropriate date as its parameter:
{{Undocumented|{{subst:DATE}}}}
