Template:MSW3 Carnivora/doc

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This template takes an optional id parameter and page number or numbers for the MSW3 entry on the species or other subtaxon in question.

For example:

{{MSW3 Carnivora | id = 14000222 | page = 546}}

gives

Wozencraft, W. Christopher (16 November 2005). "Order Carnivora (pp. 532-628)". In Wilson, Don E., and Reeder, DeeAnn M., eds (ed.). [http://google.com/books?id=JgAMbNSt8ikC&pg=PA546 Mammal Species of the World: A Taxonomic and Geographic Reference] (3rd ed.). Baltimore: Johns Hopkins University Press, 2 vols. (2142 pp.). p. 546. ISBN 978-0-8018-8221-0. OCLC 62265494. {{cite book}}: |editor= has generic name (help); External link in |title= (help); Invalid |ref=harv (help)CS1 maint: multiple names: editors list (link)

for the clouded leopard, Neofelis nebulosa (the chapter link goes to the MSW3 web page for the species entry).

In the following example, a heading is added, which then replaces "Order Carnivora (pp. 532-628)":

{{MSW3 Carnivora | id = 14000203 | pages = 544-545 | heading = Genus ''Puma''}}

giving

Wozencraft, W. Christopher (16 November 2005). "Genus Puma". In Wilson, Don E., and Reeder, DeeAnn M., eds (ed.). [http://google.com/books?id=JgAMbNSt8ikC&pg=PA544-545 Mammal Species of the World: A Taxonomic and Geographic Reference] (3rd ed.). Baltimore: Johns Hopkins University Press, 2 vols. (2142 pp.). pp. 544–545. ISBN 978-0-8018-8221-0. OCLC 62265494. {{cite book}}: |editor= has generic name (help); External link in |title= (help); Invalid |ref=harv (help)CS1 maint: multiple names: editors list (link)

for Puma (the heading link now goes to the MSW3 web page for the genus entry).
