Several Wikipedians have formed a WikiProject to better organize information in articles related to The Beach Boys (including individual members' work). This page and its subpages contain their suggestions; it is hoped that this project will help to focus the efforts of other Wikipedians. The scope of the project is articles about The Beach Boys and their work, and people and things directly related to - or who have achieved a significant part of their notability through their connection to - The Beach Boys as a group and individually.

Goals

Please discuss on the talk page or be bold and add some! In order to track our progress as a community, whenever you perform some notable work on the following goals and/or projects please add a note on the talk page letting us all know where we are on our goals.

Unify and improve articles about albums
Unify and improve articles about The Beach Boys
Unify and improve song articles
Unify and improve articles about post-Beach Boys bands
Keep an eye for any form of vandalism

Guidelines[edit]

Book References

In accordance with Wikipedia policy, facts and assertions should be attributed to verifiable, reliable sources wherever possible (see WP:V and WP:RS).

The Project's preferred method for this is inline citations using the <ref> tag.

There is two ways to do this:

One way is to put the book in the "references" section: *{{cite book|last=Schaffner|first=Nicholas|title=Saucerful of Secrets|publisher=Sidgwick & Jackson|location=London|year=2005|edition=New|isbn=0-283-06127-8|ref={{SfnRef|Schaffner|2005}}}}

With citing the book in the article: {{sfn|Schaffner|2005|p=77}}

The other is to cite books with the page number inline, without placing the book in the "references" section *{{cite book|last=Schaffner|first=Nicholas|title=Saucerful of Secrets|publisher=Sidgwick & Jackson|location=London|year=2005|pages=116–117|edition=New|isbn=0-283-06127-8}}
